Travel to Mcleod Gunj

I took a group of 90 students along with 4faculty members including me for an excursion to Mcleod Gunj in (India).

It is quite a long journey from Delhi. We took the fast train and got down at Ludhiana(A town in Punjab). After that, we took a bus.

Dharamsala and Mcleod Gunj are twin cities in the mountains. Dharamsala is known for its military base and a very colorful cricket stadium. Mcleod Gunj is wonderful for an excursion and trek to the mountains and to visit the abode of the honorable Dalai Lama.

McLeod Ganj is just above the town…

The right to breathe freely and a choice to live

Image by Author’s own camera (My own garden)

A chance to freedom in life

When I wake up in the morning and look at my plants, I feel a sense of freedom. The beauty of the cool air and the stillness of the morning. The birds are chirping. I can even hear the insects making a sound and I feel free like a bird who wants to go up in the air. It is a feeling of freshness and happiness.

It is the day after the storm and the rain and everything looks washed and clean. This is a feeling and a sentiment.

I started thinking about looking at the plants in my garden…

Special moments and memories with my father

Photo by Sabine Ojeil on Unsplash

Dear Family and friends,

Memories of a loving father

We all have some memories with our father. Some fathers are soft, others are understanding, some are fun-loving and some are harsh.

We love our parents unconditionally and treasure those days spent with them. It is fun to watch parents who have a child-like ability to do things.

In psychology, there is the parent, child, adult model where every person has a little parental behavior, childlike but not childish behavior pattern, and a little adult. The proportion is variable.

If your dad always wanted to behave in a stern manner he would be serious and business-like…

A zig-zag incident in my life

Many a time my friends Rani and Rajesh invited me to come to their home. It was always a pleasure to be with them. We would talk about life and its many lessons.

They would always say “You are too formal. Why do you have to ask for permission and call on us. Come whenever you like. We always love to have you over”.

It was very sweet of them to say so and it was like music to my ears that I should have such wonderful friends who were always so welcoming.

One day it was a big festival…

Love is to know and care for yourself and others always

Love and self-care

I was taking a walk in a natural park. There were many plants and trees over there. The true meaning of love and care could be easily felt over there.

The bougainvilleas were entwined with the other trees. They needed the help of someone to stand straight. There was love between the trees and the plants and they helped each other.

At the same time I noticed the bougainvilles, I realized that there was a perfect example of self care. In turn it loved the trees and the trees gave it support.I realized that love and self-care are entwined with…

A change in mindset helps in a happy and fulfilling life.

Photo by Raul Varzar on Unsplash

Do you judge others for their bad habits?

Very often I must say!

I am guilty too! When we sit among friends we talk about others and how the bad habit triggered us. Then we shrug it off and say let us forget about it!

Judging others is not a bad thing at all. Think of the various benefits. You are exposed to the bad habits of others elevating you through self-improvement. You do not want to make the same mistakes and try to change your own ways towards a happy and fulfilling life.
